At the end of July I visited Kenwood House for the first time. It is located on Hampstead Lane in north London and set in a tranquil parkland with panoramic views over London. The original Kenwood House goes back to the 17th century. When Earl of Mansfield bought the house in 1754 he commissioned architect Robert Adam to remodel the house. Recently the Great Library, one of Robert Adam's masterpieces had been restored to how it originally appeared.
Kenwood House contains magnificent interiors and exceptional art collections from famous painters such as Rembrandt, Vermeer, Turner, Reynolds and Gainsborough. The old Service Wing of Kenwood House contains a cafe serving a selection of mouth-watering cakes, hot foods, snacks and drinks. The extensive grounds feature a parkland, woodland, lake and kitchen garden. It is the perfect location to spend a summer's afternoon with the family away from the hustle and bustle of London.
